The characteristics of 20 promising varieties of potatoes, which will be presented by the participants of the exhibition of the interregional industry exhibition “Potato-2023”, were prepared by specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture of Chuvashia.
Planting material will be presented by potato-producing farms of the Chuvash Republic – Agrofirma Glory to Potatoes LLC, Chuvash Research Institute of Agriculture – a branch of the FGBNU FARC of the North-East, Agrokhmel LLC, IP Head K (F) X Pavlova G.A., IP Head K (F) Kh Stepanov V.I., IP Head of K(F)Kh Fedorova V.A.

The willingness to sell mini-tubers of promising varieties at the exhibition was also announced by the Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosselkhoztsentr” in the Chuvash Republic and LLC “Meristema”.
In the pavilions of the XV Interregional Industry Exhibition “Potato-2023”, a separate place will be given to the stand of the Directorate of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Agriculture (FSTP).
Here, visitors will be able to learn more about the features of the program, the activities of manufacturers within the framework of the FSTP, get information about the results achieved, get acquainted with the directions being developed, find out how to become a participant in the program and what it gives manufacturers.
The press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture reminded that 38 new varieties of potatoes have already been created within the framework of the FSTP, 20 technologies for breeding and seed production of potatoes have been developed, 3 new biological means of protecting this crop have been developed and registered. Chuvash seed potato producers are also working on FSTP projects. Since 2023, the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Center for Agroanalytics” has been designated as the directorate of the FSTP for the development of agriculture.
They will perform with their individual stands and present the results of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “FRC of Potato named after A.G. Lorkha, LLC Agrostar, LLC Agrofirma Glory to Potato – Yalchiki, LLC Doka-Gene Technologies, JSC Ozyory.
At the exhibition locations it will be possible to see potatoes of the Gulliver, Samba, Julia, Prime and other varieties created under the FSTP. And in the trade zone it will be possible to purchase seed material.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov shared information that more than 100 varieties of different seed potatoes are expected at the exhibition, and exhibitors will present something original at the exhibition, including purple varieties that can prevent diabetes.
Recall that “Potato 2023” is the only industry exhibition in Russia, held with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and the Potato Union. A representative forum for open, meaningful discussions on a wide range of professional problems of potato producers and processors, scientists, experts, analysts, suppliers of mineral fertilizers and plant protection products, seeds, agricultural machinery will be held on March 2-3, 2023 in Cheboksary.
