According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, by the end of the first decade of October, 5.6 million tons of potatoes were harvested in the country. This figure is 15 percent less than for the same period in 2023.
According to experts, the resulting harvest will be enough for domestic consumption. Domestic potatoes should be enough to provide the Russian population with their own products before the start of digging tubers next year.
During the season, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture made forecasts that 7.3 million tons of potatoes would be harvested in the organized sector. The previous harvest was a record for the last 30 years, exceeding 8.2 million tons.
