During a press conference, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Processing Industry of the region Nikolay Drofa announced a reduction in the production of second bread by more than two times.
The official said that in 2016, in the Omsk region, the crop was grown on an area of 49 thousand hectares. But in the current season, slightly less than 20 thousand hectares were planted with potatoes.
The authorities attribute the drop in production levels to a reduction in the number of private subsidiary farms. As the minister noted, today the task is to compensate for the lost volumes of increased plantings in the organized agricultural sector.
