This year, more than 5.8 thousand hectares have been allocated for potatoes in the region. Today, the harvest has been harvested from an area of 1,222 thousand hectares, which is 22% of the plan. Stavropol farmers have dug up 46.8 thousand tons of tubers with an average yield of 38.3 tons/ha.
Varieties of different maturation periods are grown in the region: from early to late. Potato growers start working in March to harvest the first crop in early July. Planting of later varieties takes place in summer, and the weather allows you to dig up tubers until the end of October.
