A composite sovereign state in Western Europe and the Caribbean, consisting of 4 parts: the Netherlands proper, Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten. Most of the founding country of the Netherlands is located in Western Europe, with the exception of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, which have the status of special communities and are located in the Caribbean region. Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten are also in the Caribbean.
