In a celebratory event hosted by Revista CAMPO, the inaugural National Potato Awards took place in Medina de Campo, Valladolid, this Thursday. Among the distinguished recipients was PepsiCo, honored with the Sustainable Project Award for its Sustainable Farming Program (SFP) in Spain and Portugal. This accolade underscores PepsiCo’s commitment to environmental, economic, and social sustainability within its global strategy, PEP+.

PepsiCo’s triumph extended beyond corporate recognition, with two of its suppliers, FLOYMA and Esencia de Montorio, represented by Manuel Aires Anastasio and Nicolás Serna respectively, clinching prestigious awards for Young Producer of the Year and National Potato Award. Furthermore, Jorge Pérez, an agronomist who dedicated 32 years to PepsiCo, was bestowed with the Technical Professional Award, culminating a remarkable career that concluded in late 2023.

While the spotlight shone on the stage, the victory is a testament to the collective effort of SWE’s Agro team, past and present, including ANGEL ALONSO VELASCO, Jorge Pérez, and Miguel Angel Calleja De Castro. Their dedication and trust have propelled PepsiCo’s sustainability initiatives to new heights. Gratitude extends to Raúl Pérez Humanes, Mercedes Yartu González, and Adrián Crucis Santaolalla for their unwavering commitment, ensuring PepsiCo maintains its leadership in sustainability.

The success of the event wouldn’t have been possible without the impeccable organization by Revista CAMPO, reaffirming their steadfast support for the agricultural sector.

PepsiCo’s triumph at the National Potato Awards heralds a new era of sustainable agriculture. Through initiatives like the Sustainable Farming Program, PepsiCo demonstrates its unwavering commitment to fostering environmental stewardship, economic viability, and social responsibility within the agricultural landscape. As the industry navigates towards a more sustainable future, PepsiCo leads by example, inspiring stakeholders to cultivate innovation and sustainability in every field.
