TIPA has introduced 312 MET, a high-barrier metallized film that not only prevents moisture, oil and salt from penetrating, but is also fully compostable at home. This is an important step in the fight against plastic waste in the packaging industry.
The company presented its innovative solution at key industry events Packaging Innovations & Empack and BIOFACH, underlining its commitment to sustainability.
Metallized film with high barrier protection
TIPA 312 MET is a co-extruded metallized film developed specifically for lamination. It meets two key requirements of the modern packaging market at once:
Provides reliable protection of products from moisture, oil and salt.
It is biodegradable, completely decomposing in both industrial and home composting conditions.
This film is compatible with extrusion and solution lamination and is also suitable for use in water-dispersion adhesive systems. In addition, TIPA 312 MET can be laminated with an additional layer of cellulose or paper, creating a two-layer compostable package for chips, French fries and other snacks.
TIPA 312 MET packaging is not only hermetically sealable, resealable and printable, but is also available in a variety of thicknesses and configurations to suit the needs of brands.
All TIPA products meet strict compostability standards:
EN13432 for industrial environments.
Home Compostable Certification for home environments.
In addition, the company offers converters the opportunity to sublicense its certification, simplifying the introduction of turnkey solutions to the market.
TIPA 312 MET is not just a new product, it is a new standard for snack packaging. With it, brands can combine high performance, product protection and environmental responsibility without having to compromise.
