Arable farmer Fokke de Jong from Ternaard (FR) received his new Grimme row cultivator last week. Good experiences with the brand and with the dealer were decisive in the purchase.
De Jong grows about 90 hectares of potatoes which he trades or sells through his farm shop (potatohandeldejong.nl). Last year he bought his new Grimme row cultivator GF400. The machine is equipped with, among other things, a 250 hp switch box, double heavy air wheels, stainless steel milling caps and hydraulic adjustments for pressure and angle of inclination.
Ready early
The trade-in, an identical machine, was not necessarily due for replacement at six years. “But”, De Jong explains: “We finished row tillers early last year. I then indicated to the dealer that if he had someone else for my machine, he could pick it up. ” This happened and De Jong ordered the machine that was delivered last week in May.
Relationship
It was actually certain that it would become a Grimme again. The previous machine worked well and the relationship with dealer Van der Maar played a major role in the choice. “Better a somewhat more expensive machine and a good dealer than cheaper and it doesn’t click.” De Jong also had other brands on trial before. What he likes about the Grimme is in particular the high number of milling teeth. The machine has 186. “This allows me to work the soil more finely or drive faster. Every lump gets a hit. ”
