By the end of 2024, the gross potato harvest in the organized sector will amount to about 7.5 million tons. As experts predict, the weather anomalies encountered by plant growers during the season will not have a serious impact on the volume of the harvest.
By the end of September, more than 50 percent of the potato acreage in Russia had been harvested. By this time, farmers had managed to dig up 3.8 million tons of tubers, which is 600 thousand tons less than on the same date in 2023.
A decrease in potato yields has so far been noted in such regions of the country as the Republic of Crimea, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and Tula regions.
