The Russian agricultural giant Miratorg and the fast-food chain “Vkusno — i Tochka” have delayed the opening of their new potato processing plant in Oryol Oblast to the second half of 2026. Originally scheduled to commence operations in 2024 and later postponed to 2025, the project now faces an extended timeline due to economic and logistical challenges. The plant will be a major boost to Russia’s domestic potato processing industry, with a total investment of 19.2 billion rubles.

The plant is designed to process up to 120,000 tons of potatoes annually, creating 400 new jobs in the region. It will focus on producing French fries, potato wedges, and hash browns, primarily for the “Vkusno — i Tochka” restaurant chain.
