Due to the scandal that broke out in Lithuania after the discovery of Russian cucumbers on the shelves of the country, the authorities decided to take drastic measures.
Now the republic is going to send agricultural products entering the domestic market to Austria for examination. The purpose of such rather costly actions is to search for vegetables grown in unfriendly states.
As stated by Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture Kestutis Navickas, the available possibilities do not allow us to determine whether certain vegetables are produced in Russia, Belarus or some other country. But this can be done, for example, in an Austrian laboratory.
