History:
The CIS region has for a long time now been in the focus of G. Larsson (Larsson Sweden) attention. Jörgen Larsson, the company’s CEO and owner, had toured the countries as early as beginning of 2000, and even then was he able to draw the conclusion that the starch industry of the region was about to boost in the years to follow, and that we could be one of the contributors, bringing in what is best in the world as to process technology and machinery.
With the immense potential that the countries involved have, it has been just a matter of time for an opportunity to present itself.
Milestones:
The first project, realized in 2009 in Belarus, served as a door-opener and even now is considered the best potato starch factory in the whole area.
Since then, the focus in the crop processing industry shifted more towards other crop starches and, what is more important, vegetable protein sources. Larsson Sweden comes here well-prepared, with solutions in the fields of corn, wheat and other cereals, as well as pea and other beans crops, where we have been involved in several interesting projects in the region throughout the years.
Now:
Good fame runs fast, and the success of our projects in Europe and Americas could not be overlooked by the customers in CIS, where we are being involved in potato process projects (Ukraine and Russia) as a turn-key contractor, as well as pea processing projects (Russia), as a supplier of total starch section and drying of pea fiber and pea protein, including spray-drying for soluble proteins. Together with our engineering partners, we are able to deliver high-end solutions, which will still be top of the industry for the foreseeable years.
Sophisticated machinery for a variety of industries
Aside of the pea, we are involved in corn and wheat processing, where our hydrocyclones and vacuum–filters have no comparable alternatives as to the quality of washing, yield and hygienic standards. The Whirl Flash Dryer, a product especially designed to carefully dry high-fibre and high-protein materials, is in particularly high demand, as it is suitable for a wide range of vegetable and also meat /poultry/fish etc, being also indispensable for rendering industry. We get requests for quotations for the complete drying installations including our WFD, coming from CIS, about every week, and this is for us a clear sign that our products and services, for which we are renowned, have been also appreciated by the CIS stakeholders.
Offering financing solutions
Larsson Sweden can also offer attractive financing solutions to finance the purchase for their customers, usually on more favorable credit terms compared to local markets’ offer. This also reduces the use of own bank credit limits, not to mention an easier managed cash-flow and a stable funding with long tenors. This possibility has been greatly appreciated by our customers and the latest solution of this kind has been successfully implemented for the sake of one of our customers in the region earlier this year.
The future looks bright
Our future in the region? Manifold. Native and modified starches, proteins and fibre, refined high quality products, marketable in the whole world. If this is your design, we will carry it through.
