Don farmers believe that the cost of potatoes in the near future will drop to 30 rubles per kilogram.
Farmers announced the start of work on harvesting potatoes. Root crops are transported by trucks to St. Petersburg and Moscow, in the wholesale markets the cost per kilogram is already 20 rubles.
Specialist of the Rostov reference center of the Rosselkhoznadzor Vladimir Kosov said that, taking into account all the markups in stores and markets, the cost of a kilogram of potatoes should not exceed 30 rubles per kilogram.
- On the farm, I also talked with representatives who will take potatoes to St. Petersburg and Moscow, they said that they would sell them there within the range of 40–45 rubles / kg. If there is such a price, taking into account the cost of delivery, then we have up to 40 rubles / kg, not more expensive, – Don 24 quotes Kosovo.
Potatoes are transported to the Rostov Region from the Krasnodar Territory, the Crimea, and the Kherson Region. Since there is a lot of competition, the price will be relatively low.
Experts note that this year the yield is 425 centners per hectare, which is a good indicator.
The expert urged Donetsk residents to buy only Russian potatoes. An imported one may be prettier in appearance, but it may be worse in quality.
