In Russia, named the main enemies of farmers this year

news.ru

Due to the special weather in Russia, ticks cause serious harm to farmers in 2022, they multiply rapidly, infecting both gardens and crops of mass crops, Vesti Podmoskovye reports, citing experts from August, a manufacturer of chemical plant protection products. It is noted that in addition to ticks, a special activity of locust, cotton bollworm, meadow moth and cabbage moth was noticed.

The agency explains that the threat of the influx of ticks is increasing every year, and that active control was not carried out for many years, because they were underestimated as pests.

However, later it turned out that the chemicals used against arachnids did not give the desired effect.

If earlier the mite caused damage mainly to orchards and vineyards, now this type of pest is increasingly spreading to field crops. This may be due to both climate change and the transformation of the very structure of agriculture, – said Dmitry Belov, head of the product development department of JSC Firma August.
