HyFarm Initiative Aims to Revolutionize Fresh Produce Sourcing and Farmer Engagement
HyFun Foods, India’s leading processor of potatoes into frozen French fries and potato specialties, has unveiled its ambitious HyFarm initiative aimed at revolutionizing agricultural procurement and farmer engagement across the country.
The launch of HyFarm was commemorated at a ceremony celebrating HyFun Foods’ successful procurement of 300,000 tonnes of processing-grade potatoes from farmers this year. This farmer-centric program marks a significant expansion for HyFun Foods, which previously focused on procuring potatoes for processing purposes. Moving forward, HyFarm plans to encompass a wider range of potato varieties, including table and chipping types, with the goal of scaling up its procurement to one million tons by 2028. The initiative also aims to integrate 30,000 farmers into its network by 2030, fostering sustainable agricultural practices and rural prosperity.
“At HyFun Foods, we are committed to fostering partnerships and driving collaboration. Through HyFarm, we are not only investing in the future of agriculture but also in the well-being of rural communities,” remarked Haresh Karamchandani, Managing Director and CEO of HyFun Foods. “Fresh produce forms the core of HyFun’s success, and this initiative underscores our dedication to sourcing top-quality ingredients while empowering farmers and promoting sustainable farming practices.”
With an annual revenue exceeding USD 119.8 million, HyFun Foods’ HyFarm initiative represents a strategic move to strengthen its supply chain resilience and enhance product quality while supporting India’s agricultural sector.
