We provide safe and reliable organic solution getting your potato harvest ready.
The technology developed by crop.zone is a combination of an organic liquid activator and a electric treatment. This combination allows a fast an economic viable treatment of your potatoes.
Application width of 12 m and more allow quick and cheap treatments.
In a first path the volt.apply system opens the potato crop. In a secondary treatment 3-6 days later, the plant gets fully desiccated and harvest ready.
The potato quality after treatment has been checked from independent parties. As well as the ecotoxicology footprint of this new technology
Together with our Partners Nufarm and Fenaco, we bring the NUCROP solution directly to farmers, helping them with the increasing demand of sustainable Agriculture
The crop.zone systems apply a conductive liquid at the front and an electric high voltage signal at the back. The high energy level and flowing current result in the destruction of the cell walls. The plant’s ability to transport water gets terminated, and the plant dries up.
The primary energy comes from the PTO of the tractor, which powers an alternator to converts the tractor’s mechanical energy into electricity. A control cabinet distributes the energy and supplies it to the high voltage converters.
We have installed hydraulics in the system because of the 12-metre boom of significant weight that must exhibit a certain degree of robustness.
The 12-meter boom opens and closes hydraulically. The application height is controlled with the joystick inside the tractor. The electric applicators are automatically placed on the ground when the boom is set into the lower position.
The applicators are mounted with a self-aligning roller bearing to compensate for the height differences that inevitably arise in the field. The driver has very little to do in this regard. The machine is also equipped with a pendulum balance, which sets the boom for further adjustment to the terrain. These applicators are similarly drawn behind the tractor to a sledge. They have an isolation cover that prevents contact with the applicators and the high voltage.
The machine can only be active when the tractor is moving, with movement also monitored by sensors. This season, our program is running with farmers, channel partners, major downstream partners from the industry interested in establishing sustainable production. We are receiving inquiries from around the world; from America and Australia. And we are looking to fill our order books within the next two to three months, after which we will start to plan the next generation of machines. This will be an evolution of the machine presented here, with a number of improvements based on lessons learned this year. And we are then hoping to be in a position to deliver a truly mature product to farmers next year. We hope to supply 50 machines. That is our target.
