Compendium for photos of Phytophthora infestans

A A

Late blight is caused by Phytophthora infestans, an oomycete and a threat to potato production worldwide. In the EU, it is recognised a regulated non-quarantine pest for the seed potato sector.

Some photos of disease symptoms have recently been contributed to the EPPO Global Database (https://gd.eppo.int/taxon/PHYTIN/photos). Photos by Maria A. Kuznetsova, All-Russian Phytopathology Research Institute.

Conventional late blight management mainly relies on the application of chemical crop protection products. EuroBlight researchers have published the new version of the late blight fungicide table (https://agro.au.dk/forskning/internationale-platforme/euroblight/control-strategies/late-blight-fungicide-table) to enhance the late blight management using chemical crop protection products.

These photos are useful for all potato growers, phytosanitary inspectors, etc.
