During his press conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic Vladimir Grakun spoke about the results of the activities of Belarusian breeders.
According to the official, farmers are steadily increasing the areas sown with domestic varieties of crops. In accordance with the instructions of the country’s leadership, this figure should be at least 80 percent by 2030.
Already today, potato varieties of Belarusian selection are in high demand. Vladimir Grakun noted that at meetings with representatives of friendly countries, it is always about the supply of seeds of local tubers. Active cooperation in this area is also conducted with the regions of the Russian Federation.
