- ‘AgTech’ event series hosted on www.dlg-connect platform in Agritechnica digital program
Tomorrow, 18 January 2022, Agritechnica digital – the digital program of Agritechnica – will be hosting exhibitor RootCamp’s free-to-attend webinar “Agricultural robots: How robotics is changing agriculture”. With contributions from speakers from Agritechnica exhibitors and companies KWS Group, E-Terry, DigiFarm and Muddy Machines, the event is the first in a new webinar series of four “AgTech webinars” that runs over three weeks and has been initiated by RootCamp, a company supporting agricultural startups to reach market entry. Taking place on the DLG-Connect.com platform, RootCamp’s webinars, which are jointly organized with the DLG (German Agricultural Society), explore topics that are shaping the innovation scene in the agricultural tech industry: robotics, digitalization, circular economy and soil health.
The events allow attendees to listen to the live panel discussions consisting of experts, partners and startups that provide status updates and overview of technical trends.
Program on 18 January, 4-5 p.m. CET “Agricultural robots: How robotics is changing agriculture” – Register here
Stefan Meldau, Business Development Manager at KWS Group
Martha Wenzel, Co-founder at E-Terry
Nils Helset, Co-Founder and CEO of DigiFarm & 15th Generation Farmer
Florian Richter, Founder & CEO at Muddy Machines
Questions explored:
What field robot startup solutions currently exist and what needs do they fulfill? Are more tools needed to enable field robots to transform crop production?
Experts share their experiences from field trials and discuss together with startups what future developments are expected.
Program on 19 January, 4-5 p.m. CET: “Digital future – Decision making systems for agriculture” – Register here
Prof Peter Breunig, Professor for Innovation and Technology Transformation in Food and Agriculture at Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf
Sanja Brdar, Co-founder at Cropt
Dmitry Dementiev, Co-founder at GeoPard Agriculture
Christian Hennig, serial entrepreneur and tech expert
Questions explored:
Artificial intelligence-based approaches combined with Big Data analytics is a key solution to agricultural productivity and sustainability. Emerging new applications are expected to transform farming practices into a highly mechanized and data-intensive business.
What changes are required? What startup tools exist today and what tools are needed for the future?
What will crop production look like in the future? What realistic possibilities can be enabled by technology?
Program on 1 February 4-5 p.m. CET, “Circular economy: Applications in the agri-food sector” – Register here
Sven Goenster-Jordan, Agronomist at K+S
Tomasz Ciamulski, Founder and CEO of FibriTech
Prateek Mahalwar, Co-founder and CEO of Bioweg
Anne Lamp, CEO and co-founder of traceless
Questions explored:
Optimized resource use, life cycle management and reduced carbon emissions are now a priority for agri-food companies. Resources are finite and currently expensive and scarce. The circular economy helps to find a sustainable and flexible way to grow without consuming primary materials, and goes beyond recycling and resource use. How does the circular economy affect the agrifood sector and to what extent can we completely replace fossil fuels? What are the needs from the industrial partners and what ideas do startups have to adapt to existing value chains?
Program on 2 February 4-5 p.m. CET “Soil microbiome: What’s behind the buzz?” Register here
Speaker panel to be announced shortly.
Soil resources are under threat from various anthropogenic activities, including climate change. Plant-associated microbial communities have been scientifically shown to stimulate plant growth and increase their resistance to various abiotic and biotic stresses. In this webinar, experts will be discussing what microorganisms are, how they act and how they can influence in our ecosystem in the future.
Venue for all events: www.DLG-Connect.com.
The digital venue of the four RootCamp events is DLG-Connect.com, a platform developed by DLG as part of its objective to further knowledge in the international agricultural sector. DLG-Connect hosts Agritechnica’s online program “Agritechnica digital” which is open for events and networking until March 2022. The open events on the DLG-Connect platform are free to attend with prior registration required. Presentation language is English.
