To reconsider how produce is packaged, Wisconsin potato and onion distributor Vee’s Marketing, Inc. developed the Brown Bag Potatoes (BBP) brand’s packaging, which is both environmentally friendly and entirely compostable, including the adhesive and ink generated from veggies.
According to the company’s representatives, the paper in the new package keeps out light of the bag, which means less greening, and the potatoes stay fresh longer.
“The biggest value to a buyer is making their life easier. Buying in itself is a hard job and buyers often feel underappreciated,” current owner and president of Vee’s Marketing, Jason Vee, said.
A favorable response to his new packaging has relieved the corporation after a substantial investment in designing the new product. Retail buyers that are particularly interested in providing goods in sustainable packaging have been satisfied with the product’s qualities.
