Several studies and multi-year practical experience have shown that shallow plowing has clear advantages over the usual plowing depth of between 20 and 30 centimeters. An integrated Zibo front packer ensures that a good seedbed is still laid down.
Weeds are effectively covered with shallow plowing. Soil life, organic matter and minerals remain more concentrated at the top of the soil. Spring plowing on clay soil is possible and there is less nitrate leaching. In addition, with shallow plowing there is less risk of structural deterioration and easier flat plowing can be delivered, resulting in an improved seedbed. Increased capacity and reduced fuel consumption makes shallow plowing an interesting option for growers. By combining the plow with an integrated Zibo front press, the seedbed is immediately pressed well for a good germination start.
Zinger Mechanisatie in Borger has decades of experience in furrow presses. The integrated Zibo furrow press consists of large serrated discs of wear-resistant plastic with a diameter of 720 millimeters. Four discs are used as standard for every 50 centimeters working width; each disc has a working width of 125 millimeters, which results in an even pressure. Two wishbones are supplied with the frame as standard, so that the Zibo front packer can easily turn on a reversible plow.
Spring plowing
Zibo developed the furrow press because, according to them, shallow plowing is emerging. This even makes spring plowing on clay possible. “That requires a treatment that presses the seedbed well so that germination can start properly. Our new packer can do that, ”says Zinger.
Advantages Zibo integrated furrow press
- Good germination in an even and compacted seedbed
Thanks to the serration and the large diameter of the discs. As a result, the turnover speed is not so fast and the seedbed is not deposited too finely - Trouble-free work
Thanks to large serrated discs (Ø720 mm) that always keep running - Low maintenance costs
Thanks to a low weight, overloading the plow is avoided.
