The development of the agro-industrial complex of the Novgorod region and the course of the sowing campaign in the region were discussed today at a working meeting by the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev and Governor Andrei Nikitin.
As noted, the agrarians of the region are provided with all the necessary resources for the sowing campaign. At the same time, melioration is an important factor for obtaining high yields. The subject uses 75% of the available reclaimed agricultural land. According to Dmitry Patrushev, this is a good result and at the same time a point of growth. As part of the relevant state program for the effective involvement of agricultural land in the turnover and the development of the reclamation complex of the Novgorod Region, about 95 million rubles are provided for the involvement of abandoned farmland in the turnover. This will increase the productivity of the regional agro-industrial complex.
In addition, issues of state support for the agro-industrial complex were considered at the meeting. Last year, the Novgorod region was provided with 400 million rubles, and all of them were brought to the recipients. This year, the limit has been increased to 470 million rubles – at the moment, the level of disbursement of funds exceeds the national average.
Also, during a working trip to the region, Dmitry Patrushev visited the cultural and leisure center, which was opened as part of the state program “Integrated Development of Rural Territories”. In general, within its framework, last year the region participated in four events, for 2022 more than 100 million rubles are provided for work to improve the quality of life in the countryside.
The Minister got acquainted with the course of spring sowing at the Pavlyuk D.P. peasant farm, which has the status of a seed-growing enterprise and provides farmers in several regions of the country with seed potatoes. This year, in general, the Novgorod region plans to increase the area under potatoes to 4,000 hectares.
