The Impala potato variety will appear on the shelves of Sakhalin stores this year. For this, 23 hectares of fields were taken under sowing, the Telegram channel “Teplichny State Farm” reported.
“We have a new variety of potatoes, yellow ones. It’s called the Impala. Last year, tests were carried out, the variety proved itself well, so this year it should be – 23 hectares of fields were taken for sowing, ”the message says.
“Impala” is one of the most popular early-ripening table potato varieties. It was bred in the Netherlands, in the city of Emmeloord, after which it appeared in Kamchatka, Kazan, the Moscow Region and the Stavropol Territory. Potatoes have adapted well to the Sakhalin climate.
It is noted that the tubers have yellow peel and flesh.
