Success of the in vitro potato propagation program
After six months of work, specialists managed to grow more than 8 thousand seedlings of local potatoes in vitro, which resulted in the production of more than 61 thousand units of pre-basic seeds of the “Amarilla Tumbai” variety. These seeds are free from pests and diseases and will be distributed to farmers of the Yuragmarka Producers Association in Pachitea Province.
The role of the Pachitea Agricultural Agency
This result was made possible thanks to the technical team of the Pachitea Agricultural Agency, which organized:
- Educational trainings for farmers,
- Technical support at all stages of production,
- Support in field work,
- Quality control of seed material.
Such measures ensured efficient and high-quality seed production, which contributes to the development of local potato growing and increases the sustainability of farms in the region.

By distributing high-quality seed material, farmers will be able to increase potato yields, reduce losses from diseases and pests, and obtain a more stable income.
