Since the beginning of 2026, the Kaliningrad region has been actively supplying high-quality seed potatoes to agricultural producers across Russia. According to the regional office of Rosselkhoznadzor, nearly 460 tons of seed material were inspected and cleared for shipment between January 1 and February 19. The bulk of this volume consisted of 356 tons of seed potatoes, which were dispatched to the Pskov, Rostov, and Yaroslavl regions. All shipments were accompanied by the necessary phytosanitary certificates and met the required standards. In addition to potatoes, 102 tons of lawn grass seeds were also exported to the Oryol region during the same period.
This interregional cooperation is an established annual practice for Kaliningrad’s agricultural sector. The peak shipping season typically runs from February to June. The geography of these supplies is extensive, with Kaliningrad’s seed potatoes reaching farmers in major agricultural areas, including the Moscow, Leningrad, Bryansk, Tula, Astrakhan, Rostov, and Novosibirsk regions. This consistent demand underscores the high quality and reliability of the seed material produced in the Kaliningrad exclave.
