In the Stavropol Territory began harvesting early potatoes. This year, 5.4 thousand hectares are provided for the harvest, which is 4 percent more than last year, the regional Ministry of Agriculture reported.
The main areas for growing potatoes are in the Ipatovsky, Predgorny, Krasnogvardeysky and Kirov districts.
Agrarians of the Ipatovsky District have already started harvesting potatoes of early ripening varieties. More than 1.5 thousand hectares are allotted for this crop. Now agricultural producers have harvested more than 730 tons with a yield of 271.7 centners per hectare.
