The sowing campaign has begun in the Moscow region. The governor of the region Andrey Vorobyov checked how the arable land is being processed in Lukhovitsy and talked with the machine operators who work there, the press service of the governor and the government of the Moscow region reports.
“The sowing season has begun. Everything related to field work – seeds, fertilizers, plant protection products, equipment, fuel and lubricants – is ready. Moreover, most of the cereals, primarily wheat, are domestic selection, special varieties for the middle zone. The harvest this year should be good,” Vorobyov said.
“TulamashAgro” is the largest plant-growing enterprise in the region. The company grows legumes, cereals, fodder, oilseeds in Lukhovitsy, Shakhovskaya, Zaraysk, Kashira, Kolomna, Serebryanye Prudy and Lotoshyn.
“We have about 68,000 hectares of sown area this year. Of these, in Lukhovitsy – 27 thousand hectares, including about 14 thousand – winter. We plant almost all crops that grow in this zone: wheat, rapeseed, corn, peas, barley. We are expanding, we have opportunities for this – we are introducing land, we are developing new sown areas, ”said Alexander Zhorov, General Director of TulamashAgro.
He added that the company is supported by the authorities near Moscow. All emerging issues are discussed at the round table.
Last year, the company collected 158.5 thousand tons of gross harvest, 7.5 thousand agricultural lands were put into circulation.
In order to implement import substitution, TulamashAgro is ready to invest in the creation of a seed-growing complex for breeding and growing seeds of leguminous, grain and fodder crops, to provide services to agricultural producers in tillage, sowing campaign, fertilization and transportation of goods.
In 2022, the agro-industrial complex of the Moscow Region received 5.5 billion rubles of state support. Of these, about 3 billion rubles is assistance for the period of spring sowing. In order to carry out spring field work, 78 thousand tons of seeds of grain and leguminous crops, potatoes and open ground vegetables, 96 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers and 79 thousand tons of chemical protective equipment were purchased.
Now in the Moscow region about 905 thousand hectares of agricultural land are used. In 2021, 142 thousand hectares of unused agricultural plots were identified, of which 98 thousand hectares are suitable for putting into circulation. This year it is planned to put into circulation 40 thousand hectares of land. Thanks to this, the sown area will increase by 13%.
