Appropriately, the digitalization in agriculture is the topic chosen for the online expert talk that will kick off the new “Agritechnica digital” online program. Taking place on the new DLG-Connect platform (www.DLG-Connect.com) from mid-November 2021 until March 2022, “Agritechnica digital” is the ideal complement to the trade fair in Hanover as it offers exhibitors and visitors an additional business platform that is designed to combine the live experience of the trade fair with innovative digital information and networking. Increasingly digital applications are penetrating into all areas of agriculture. For some, these applications offer solutions to many current problems while for others the benefits to their business still need to be proven. The topic of digitalization, robotics and smart farming are at the centre of the technical program of the Agritechnica exhibition, which will be held at the largest exhibition grounds in the world located in Hanover. In the expert talk at the launch of “Agritechnica digital” on 15 November, 13:00 – 14:00 (CET), Thomas Böck, CEO, Claas Group, Germany, Dr. Sjaak Wolfert, Strategic Senior Scientist Wageningen Economic Research, Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands, and René Jørgensen, CEO, FarmDroid, Denmark, among others, will discuss the current challenges and prospects and explore how digitalisation is an important prerequisite for “green efficiency” in modern agriculture. Agritechnica digital complements the in-person trade fair in Germany
From mid-November, exhibitors and visitors alike will be able to use the services offered by “Agritechnica digital” to make contacts and optimally prepare for their visit to Agritechnica 2022 in Hanover. “This benefits not only visitors but also exhibitors, who can network with their priority customers in the run-up to the trade fair through their digital company profiles, events and press conferences. Agritechnica digital covers international topics
The Agritechnica technical programme, which takes place within “Agritechnica digital” contains six spotlights:

In these spotlights, experts will be providing answers to the central future issues of global crop production and international agricultural machinery.
The “Agritechnica digital” program, which will be further expanded in the coming weeks to include events for farmers and other agricultural experts from the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Italy, Russia and other agricultural nations. Titled “Agritechnica on Tour” this new series of virtual events each explores a trending farm machinery-related topic.
Another highlight is the Agritechnica Asia/Horti Asia Regional Summit held on 16 and 17 November focusing on methods and technical solutions for sustainable food production in Southeast Asia. On 24 November, the ATLAS Demo Day will take place on the platform. The EU project ATLAS aims to enable a new level of interoperability of different systems of agricultural machinery, sensors and data services to the benefit of the farmer. On 30 November, British experts and farmers will explore the topic “Green Efficiency – New opportunities for British farming”.
