Work on the application of mineral fertilizers to the soil by the farms of Transbaikalia in 2022 increased by 10% compared to the previous year, said the head of the regional agricultural department Denis Bochkarev.
“Agricultural organizations in Transbaikalia harvested 180,000 tons of grain crops this year. High yields have been achieved, among other things, due to measures to improve soil fertility. Thus, mineral fertilizers were applied on an area of 75.4 thousand hectares, while in 2021 this figure was 68 thousand hectares,” the minister explained.
He noted that the application of mineral fertilizers to the soil, in addition to increasing the yield of agricultural crops, improves the quality of the grown products.
In general, agricultural organizations and farmers of the region purchased 600 tons of fertilizers this year more than a year earlier, when 4.3 thousand tons were purchased.
