A delegation of scientists from the Northeastern Agricultural University from Harbin (China) paid a working visit to Yekaterinburg. The guests were received at the Ural Federal Agrarian Research Center.
The Russian side provided colleagues with detailed information about the work carried out by Ural scientists in the field of potato growing. And scientists from China talked about their achievements, noting that Chinese breeders focus on creating early-maturing technological varieties of culture. Such potatoes are characterized by a high starch content, are suitable for mechanical harvesting and can serve as raw materials in processing plants.
Within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between scientific institutions in 2023, it is planned to create a common laboratory. Joint internships for Russian and Chinese researchers will be held at its site. Work will also begin here to develop a potato variety suitable for cultivation in both countries.
