The gross potato harvest in the republic in 2023 reached 1.145 million tons, which is 4.6% more than the level of 2022. More than 798 thousand tons of products have been grown in farms and public farms. The rest is in the household plots of the population.
Statistics show that Tajikistan ranks fourth in terms of cultural production in Central Asia. There are approximately 111 kilograms of root vegetables per capita. According to this indicator, the country is in third place in the region after Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The potato yield in the republic last year amounted to about 240 quintals per hectare. In this position, it is second only to Uzbekistan, where it received over 350 quintals per hectare.
