Frito-Lay has issued a voluntary recall for a limited batch of its popular Miss Vickie’s potato chips distributed in six U.S. states. The recall affects specific 8-ounce bags of the Spicy Dill Pickle flavor that were shipped to retailers, including grocery and convenience stores, starting in mid-January. The company discovered that some of these bags may contain jalapeño-flavored chips, which include milk as an ingredient—a component not declared on the Spicy Dill Pickle label. While the product poses no risk to the general public, consumers with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity are urged not to consume the chips, as doing so could trigger a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction.
The recall was initiated following a consumer complaint, though Frito-Lay has confirmed that no allergic reactions related to this issue have been reported to date. The affected products were distributed exclusively in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. No other Miss Vickie’s flavors, bag sizes, or variety packs are involved in this recall. Frito-Lay has notified the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) about the action, and the agency will proceed with a formal classification of the recall according to its standard procedures.
