BO Akkerbouw maintains rates for research contribution

Many arable farmers will receive the invoice this week for their contribution for 2020 to the collective arable farming research. They pay the same amount per hectare as for the years 2018 and 2019.

ore than 14,000 entrepreneurs have now authorized BO Akkerbouw for their cultivation data at RVO.nl, which makes it easy for BO Akkerbouw to draw up the invoices. With the mandatory financial contribution, arable farmers jointly pay for the Research and Innovation program of BO Arable farming.

Growers who use an authorization receive a discount of up to 50 euros on the research contribution. The financial contribution for arable farmers is linked to the area of potatoes, sugar beets and grains.

Compared to 2018 and 2019, the per-hectare tariffs are unchanged at EUR 13.20 for seed and ware potatoes, EUR 8.80 for starch potatoes and sugar beets and EUR 4.40 for cereals.

Annual budget of 2.3 million euros

After deduction of the costs of collection and implementation, an annual budget for research and innovation of approximately 2.3 million euros is created. The Research and Innovation program focuses on themes such as soil, plant health, technology and climate.

The aim of all studies is to contribute to a good return for all arable farmers with knowledge that they can apply in practice. Arable farmers have put forward and assessed projects themselves. The Projecten 2020 brochure contains an overview of all studies financed by BO Akkerbouw.
