In the period from July 9 to 15, the average decrease in prices for fruits and vegetables amounted to 3.4%. This is reported in the new report of Rosstat. According to the document, the decline for the specified period amounted to another 0.17%. For comparison, last week the decline was only 0.03%. Prices began to decline against the backdrop of falling inflation year-on-year from 15.62% to 15.39%. In particular, prices for beets fell by almost 9%, potatoes – by 8.46%, cabbage – by 8%. Apples fell in price by 2.2%, tomatoes – by 2.3%, bananas – by 3.1%. The department’s report also notes an increase in the price of margarine by 0.3%, canned vegetables for children by 0.5%, onions by 0.3%. According to experts, seasonality provides positive dynamics. Harvesting a new crop led to the fact that inexpensive products began to appear on sale.
