Punjab Province | January 24–28
Founder of the International Potato Tour, Viktor Kovalev, continues to expand the geography of the project and will travel to Pakistan, to the country’s key agricultural region — Punjab Province — from January 24 to 28.
During the visit, meetings and site visits to potato enterprises are planned, along with an in-depth look at modern seed production and plant propagation technologies. The trip is organized with the support of Green Perfect Plant — Tissue Culture Lab, a company working in the field of plant micropropagation.
Green Perfect Plant — Tissue Culture Lab
Green Perfect Plant specializes in in vitro laboratory technologies and operates under the slogan “Let’s Grow Perfect.” The company’s Tissue Culture Lab focuses on producing healthy, uniform, and high-quality planting material — a critical factor for modern potato production amid increasing demands for yield, quality, and consistency.
Tissue culture technologies make it possible to:
- produce virus-free planting material;
- rapidly multiply promising varieties;
- improve yield stability;
- build a strong foundation for export and industrial processing.
Personal Support and Partnership
A special role in organizing the visit is played by Abdul Khuram Wahid, who is personally supporting Viktor Kovalev’s visit and fostering professional dialogue between Pakistan’s potato sector and the international potato community.
Why This Matters
Pakistan — and Punjab in particular — is one of the fastest-developing potato-producing regions in South Asia. This visit within the framework of the International Potato Tour will:
- showcase the real state of the industry on the ground;
- highlight local technologies and production approaches;
- strengthen international connections between farmers, laboratories, and processors;
- give regional experts a voice on the global potato map.
The International Potato Tour continues to connect countries, technologies, and people — building an open, professional ecosystem for the global potato industry.
