Within the framework of the economic forum in Tashkent, the SCO member states and observers were invited to hold a new meeting on agricultural issues.
Uzbekistan made a proposal to organize an international conference in the field of agriculture within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The event entitled “Cooperation in the agro-industrial sector and opportunities for cooperation” was initiated within the framework of the second SCO Economic Forum, which began in Tashkent.
It is known that within the framework of the forum, representatives of the participating countries will develop a joint action plan to expand joint cooperation in the agricultural sector.
Issues of studying and implementing the latest agricultural technologies and methods for increasing productivity, plant disease resistance, and saving water resources will be discussed.
According to Aziz Voitov, First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, not only the SCO member states, but also those countries that are not members of the organization will take part in the conference.
“The first such forum is ready to be held in Uzbekistan in May 2023,” Sputnik Uzbekistan reports.
It should be noted that the SCO Economic Forum is being held in the Uzbek capital from 16 to 17 August. There will be a plenary session, panel sessions, bilateral meetings, business negotiations.
Participants from India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan will discuss the potential of the digital economy, green technologies, and regional cooperation.

Recall that the first similar forum was held in June 2021 in Dushanbe. The Economic Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an effective platform for intergovernmental dialogue and interaction between representatives of enterprises and investors.
