Among the products that are needed by the Sverdlovsk region, but still imported from abroad, is pure potato starch, which serves as the basis for the manufacture of many medicines.
This was told to “New Day” by the chairman of the committee of the Legislative Assembly on industrial policy Albert Abzalov. “It seems that potatoes are also grown in our region, but for some reason starch of the required purity is not produced. There are many nuances, it seems that not every potato variety is suitable. Until recently, this starch was supplied from Poland,” Abzalov said.
In order for import substitution in the region to be more successful, Abzalov believes, it is necessary to increase funding for the regional fund for supporting entrepreneurship and the fund for technological development of industry. There are some developments in this area. At the next meeting of the legislative assembly, amendments to the 2022 budget will be adopted, according to which the industrial development fund will be capitalized by 230 million rubles, this decision was made by the Ministry of Finance.
