Russian varieties of potatoes are planned to be grown in Turkmenistan. Specialists of the Turkmen Agricultural University have carried out research work to study the growth and yield of several varieties of potatoes, brought to Turkmenistan from the Russian Federation, in local soil and weather conditions, the Bereketli Toprak newspaper reports.
The varieties Ariel, Zhukovsky, Krasa Meshchery, Armada, Luck, Gulliver, Metlor, Granada, Vympel and Krepysh were planted on the experimental site.
The results of scientific studies have shown that among the 10 tested varieties, three varieties – “Ariel”, “Zhukovsky” and “Krasa Meshchery” are able to grow well and produce crops in the soil and weather conditions of Turkmenistan.
