Until now, there was not a single large-scale warehouse in the region, and local farmers were forced to abandon the cultivation of vegetables in large volumes. They, including imported ones, were brought to the Magadan region by ships and aircraft. Now the situation must change. Imports are largely planned to be replaced with local Kolyma products, Vesti-Magadan reports.
Heavy machinery is working on the territory of the Komarova KHF – they are re-roofing the old abandoned building, which was a vegetable store about 30 years ago, then it was closed and abandoned, and now they are giving a new life. Of course, there is still a lot of work ahead – it is necessary to lay the floors, whitewash the walls, carry out waterproofing, and then install the equipment.
The head of Komarova, the largest farm in Kolyma, says that everything will be completely new here. For the reconstruction of the building and equipment, the government of the region allocated 90% of the required amount within the framework of an import-substituting investment project, 10% – for farmers. As a result, everything will take 64 million rubles. The equipment will be Russian, it has already been bought and is on its way to Magadan.
- The temperature in the vegetable store will be set depending on the products – cabbage, carrots and potatoes have different parameters. The equipment will maintain the desired temperature and humidity, – says the head of the Komarova KHF, Sergey Komar. – All equipment is ours, Russian. And this investment project itself works within the framework of the import substitution program.
Until now, there were no vegetable stores in the Magadan region, so farmers sold their products mainly during the growing season, and then the region switched to imported vegetables, including imported vegetables, including even potatoes. Now the situation promises to change. In Kolyma, as part of investment projects, three vegetable stores are being built at once.
- Of course, this will allow us to expand the range. There will be more vegetables, more marinades, which means more goodies in our stores, – Anastasia Sergeeva, commercial director of the Komarova farm, is sure.
New vegetable stores are planned to be launched this fall. Places will be provided to all farmers in the region who need them. For example, it is planned to store up to 1,500 tons of vegetable products in the building under construction at the Komarova KHF after repairs.
