The Netherlands has been the leader in the global ranking of potato exporters by value for several years now. And according to international statistics, the country has once again increased sales of this type of agricultural products in foreign markets.
In 2022, the Netherlands earned about $955 million on the export of the commodity item “Fresh or chilled potatoes”. In 2023, shipments increased to $1,218 million. Moreover, such high rates are largely ensured by the sale of seed material.
Last season, Dutch potatoes were actively supplied to a number of EU countries, including Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy. African countries are also among the importers: Algeria, Senegal, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Mauritania, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Mali.
