THE SOWING CAMPAIGN IN STAVROPOL IS GOING ON WITHOUT FAILURE

The Russian government provides assistance to farmers who grow grain. So, before the start of the sowing campaign, 10 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget for these purposes.

The sowing campaign plan has been adapted to the new conditions, there will be no shortage of food. By the beginning of sowing, the regions of Russia will be fully provided with seeds and fertilizers.

Now the area under crops for spring crops, cereals, sugar beets, potatoes and vegetables is being expanded.

“Each of these decisions is of great importance for ensuring the country’s food security, so that people have access to the widest choice of high-quality domestic products,” Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a government meeting.

Recall that field work has already begun in 44 regions of our country. The total sown area in 2022 increased by 1 million hectares compared to last year and amounted to 81.3 million hectares.

This year, 535.6 thousand hectares of early spring crops, or 64% of the plan, have already been sown in the Stavropol Territory, 242.3 thousand hectares, or 95% of the plan, of early spring grain crops. In the next ten days, they plan to complete the sowing of early spring crops.

Agricultural producers of the region are sowing vegetables, corn for grain, sunflower for oil seeds, sugar beet and potatoes. Thus, sugar beet is sown on an area of 30.7 thousand hectares (100%). Corn for grain was sown on an area of 31.2 thousand hectares (23% of the plan). Sunflower for oilseeds – 107.0 thousand hectares (41% of the plan). Vegetables were sown on an area of 3022 hectares or 26% of the plan (11.5 thousand hectares). Sowing of onions, dill, carrots, beets, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. is underway. Potatoes are planted on an area of 2126 hectares or 38% of the plan (5.6 thousand hectares). Melons were sown on an area of 111 hectares or 9% of the plan (1.2 thousand hectares).

“Despite the sanctions pressure exerted on Russia, the measures of state support for agricultural producers of Stavropol, provided for by the regional budget for the period of this year, have been fully preserved,” commented Sergey Izmalkov, Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.

So, to date, agricultural producers of the region have been provided with state support for carrying out agrotechnological work in the field of crop and vegetable growing.
