The American provider of solutions for food production Heat and Control has announced its latest equipments that will be exhibited at the international fair Snaxpo in March 1-4.
The company’s latest equipment developments for frying, oil filtration, conveying, weighing, seasoning, packaging, and inspection are among the highlights of what visitors can expect to see at booth 827.
Heat and Control offers a sneak peek at its latest equipment developments for frying, oil filtration, conveying, weighing, seasoning, packaging, and inspection.
Latest Innovations
The equipments aimed at boosting productivity to be showcased include conveyors: FastBack Revolution Mid-Gate, FastBack FDX and WeighBack. Details on the company’s high-capacity batch and continuous fryers for kettle-style potato chips will also be introduced at the show, as well as new ways to improve seasoning application.
The new Revolution Mid-Gate can be mounted at the beginning, middle or end of the FastBack conveyor pan to eliminate product transfer pinch-points and get the advantages of proportional distribution with zero cross-contamination, reduced product breakage, easy cleaning, and safe, responsive full-open to full-closed speeds for all throughputs.
Revolution eliminates product breakage during gate closure, seals completely to end cross contamination, and provides simple wipe-down cleaning. Proven in hundreds of wet and dry applications, Revolution Gate is inherently safe for both product and operators.
The new FDX conveyor can handle runs up to 100 feet long and accumulation of up to 300 cubic feet. FDX is 40 percent smaller than comparable inertia drive horizontal motion conveyors and reduces product damage, prevents separation of blends, is easy to clean, quiet, and needs no preventive maintenance.
FastBack WeighBack is the cleaner, more accurate alternative to regular weigh belts. This continuous weighing conveyor features a removable weigh tray for easy cleaning and access to its load cells. Its user-friendly controls provide manual and auto-tare functions, with clear displays of instantaneous and cumulative operating data.
Clean Frying
Without filter paper, additives, or consumables, Micron-Pro filters cooking oil to the sub-micron level at rates up to 65 gallons/minute. It can recover up to 98 percent of the oil from filtered debris and pay for itself within a year, depending on the application.

The MasterTherm Kettle Fryer has a production capacity of over 500 finished lbs/hr. New features protect oil quality, reduce cleaning costs, and deliver consistent quality.
For higher capacities, Heat and Control’s new Universal Product Cooker fries any style of kettle-style potato chip continuously, rather than in batches. It also makes traditional potato chips with little or no slice washing, plus chips from plantains, multi-grain, and other ingredients, as well as selected pellet and extruded snacks.

Seasoning Equipment
The AccuFlavor dual geometry seasoning drum decreases standard deviation of chip-to-chip dwell time by over 30 percent, even during variations in throughput. This patent pending design improves seasoning coverage, adhesion, and application rates, and is available only with Heat and Control’s Revolution On-Machine Seasoning system.
Airborne seasoning dust is eliminated by capturing it at the point of application, with the Modular Dust Collection, available on the FastBack Revolution On-Machine Seasoning systems. With a price approximately 40 percent lower than whole-room system, it also reduces energy usage by up to 30 percent.
Spray Dynamics’ Wet ‘n Dry seasoning applicator combines continuously weighed product delivery with application of liquid and dry seasonings in one unit. It is suitable for fried, baked, and extruded products, and can be ordered with the new POD (Powder on Demand) seasoning transfer module.
Other new equipments in the Snaxpo stand will include Ishida’s Atlas 233 snack bag maker, designed for potato chips and snacks packaged in the 80 to 120 bpm range, as well as the latest food metal detectors from CEIA.
Snaxpo will reunite the international snack food industry this March 1-4 in Dallas.
