The MP spoke about what the Russian market means for Moldovan agricultural producers.
The Russian Federation and the Rosselkhoznadzor have provided a unique opportunity for Moldovan agricultural producers by opening their traditional market for selling their own products. This was stated by MP Alexander Sukhodolsky, commenting on the decision of the Russian department to resume imports of agricultural products from Moldova.
He noted that an important role in the lifting of this ban was played by the opposition parties, which sought to negotiate with the Russian side without waiting for the reaction of the Moldovan authorities.
“This shows us that the Russian side does not look at the aggressive attack of our government, the presidency, the parliamentary majority, but is ready to help the residents of the Republic of Moldova. This is a big bright positive example for us,” the deputy said.
At the same time, he added that the Moldovan authorities “are not very happy about this.” He noted that there is more and more information that the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA), which is supposed to issue phytosanitary certificates for the export of agricultural products, creates additional difficulties for Moldovan farmers.
“This shows us once again that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova do not in any way see in our eastern partners from the EAEU countries, in particular, from the Russian Federation, an opportunity for further constructive dialogue not only in the field of agriculture, but also in many others”, – Sukhodolsky believes.
According to him, the opposition parliamentary factions will continue to work towards strengthening economic ties with Russia.
“As opposition parties, we will continue to work with our Russian partners to show that people in the Republic of Moldova are not opposed to Russia,” the deputy said.
