During the inspection of the field in the Volga region, the inspectors took samples of potato tubers and sent them to the Astrakhan branch of the Rostov Reference Center of Rosselkhoznadzor for laboratory research.
“The samples received by the laboratory undergo helminthological, virological, bacteriological and mycological studies,” said Maria Yakimets, head of the molecular and serological research sector of the laboratory of the Astrakhan branch of the Rostov Reference Center.
“After a positive result, the owner of the land plot has the right to export and sell quarantine products both within the territory of the Russian Federation in the presence of a quarantine certificate, and outside it in the presence of a phytosanitary certificate in compliance with quarantine and phytosanitary requirements,” explained the state inspector of the control and supervision department in the region plant quarantine and seed production department of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Rostov, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions and the Republic of Kalmykia Miras Aibusynov.
