This focus on well-being has fostered a positive workplace culture, contributing to employee retention and satisfaction. - Testing Mildew-Resistant Potato Varieties:
A critical step towards sustainable agriculture, Roger & Roger has been experimenting with mildew-tolerant potato varieties. This initiative aims to reduce the reliance on crop protection products while ensuring more stable harvests. It aligns with global trends in sustainable farming, where crop resilience is a key factor in reducing environmental impact. - Reducing Packaging Waste:
To address packaging-related environmental concerns, Roger & Roger has streamlined its packaging process by using uniform boxes and implementing in-house printing. These measures reduce ink usage and secondary packaging waste, contributing significantly to waste reduction goals. - Utilizing Biogas:
At its water treatment facility, the company produces biogas as an alternative fuel source. This not only enhances energy sustainability but also reduces the company’s carbon footprint, supporting the broader goal of reducing dependence on non-renewable energy sources. - Contributing to the Biodiesel Industry:
Roger & Roger repurposes ISCC-certified used cooking oil, turning it into a valuable resource for the biodiesel industry. This initiative helps close the loop on waste products while promoting the use of renewable energy sources. - Recycling IT Equipment:
As part of its circular economy efforts, the company participates in the Out of Use program, which focuses on collecting old IT equipment for recycling or reuse. This initiative not only minimizes electronic waste but also contributes to environmental restoration efforts such as tree planting.
