Over 117 thousand tons of potatoes were grown last year by residents of the Vologda Oblast in private farms. In total, almost 184,000 tons were harvested in the region in farms of all categories during this period, the regional Department of Agriculture reports on its page on the VKontakte social network.
It should be noted that such varieties as “Red Scarlett”, “Queen Anna” and “Breeze” are in the greatest demand among Vologda residents. At the same time, potato varieties of domestic selection are also becoming popular: Ariel, Flagman, Krepysh, and Sineglazka.
Recall that certified seed potatoes of various varieties are available at the seed inspections of the districts of the Rosselkhozcenter branch, as well as at the Vologda branch itself. In addition, Vologda residents can apply for seed material to peasant (farm) farms, where about 45 varieties of potatoes are grown and seed control of planting material is now being carried out.
