Now new greenhouses are being built in the region to reduce dependence on imported products. So, this year the provision with vegetables and potatoes is 71.5% and 55%, respectively.
The regional Ministry of Agriculture said that this year the plantings will be at the level of last year – 17,000 hectares of potatoes and more than 6,000 hectares of vegetables.
Experts noted that it is necessary to bring the figures to 95% and 90%. For this, not only new greenhouses are being built, but new varieties of products are being introduced and modern vegetable stores are being used.
