Potato planting is nearing completion in the Mezensky District of Pomorye

This summer, work began much later due to the weather. But the farmers did not slow down and the plan was fulfilled. Potato planting this year is larger than last year, as entrepreneurs plan to send the second bread to other areas.
“Indescribable potatoes. I would have eaten it, but I can’t.”

It is with such love that potatoes are planted in Mezen. Some work by hand, some use technology. But Sergey Ushakov – in the old fashioned way, together with a faithful friend Pomor. They plow from morning to evening.

Sergei Ushakov, plowman:

“There were no plowmen on two tractors, there are a lot of orders. More than a hundred acres have already been plowed.

As before, in the ranks – 2 faithful plowmen – Oleg and Veniamin Kotkin. They have been helping their neighbors to plow the land for several years. Armed with a motor winch, they work tirelessly. On average, 9 acres can be processed per day.

Veniamin Kotkin, resident of Mezen:

“The main thing is to show the West that the land is being cultivated and we are on it. Pomors still live in the North – in the city of Mezen.

And most importantly, the neighbors are happy. Many people can no longer plow gardens on their own.

Galina Kyrkunova, a resident of Mezen:

“Very good, it is wonderful that there are such hard workers. These will leave later and that’s it, there will be no one else to plow our gardens.

This year, the farmers of Pomorye have big tasks for planting potatoes. Many farms plan to send crops to other regions.
