The farms of the Chita district and the Uletovsky municipal district were the first to harvest. And the mass harvesting of potatoes and vegetables from the open ground will begin in the region in the first decade of September.
In 2024, potatoes were planted in Transbaikalia on an area of 657.5 hectares. The culture is cultivated in agricultural organizations and farms in several districts, including Baleysky, Karymsky, Olovyanninsky, Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky, Sretensky, Khiloksky, Chernyshevsky.
This autumn, local agricultural cooperatives “Urozhodny” and “Kenonsky” from the Chita district are starting a project to sell potatoes of their own production in grids in retail chains. Equipment for packing, sorting, washing and packaging of vegetables has already been purchased.
