Agricultural cooperatives of Primorye will increase potato yields thanks to state support, reports news agency DEITA.RU.
The Government of the Primorsky Territory informs that the regional agricultural producers have been allocated regional grants “Agrostartup” for the development of potato growing. Thanks to state support, the harvest will almost double in terms of harvest volume.
Specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Primorsky Territory note that grants worth 12 million rubles were received by members of the Oktyabrsky cooperative from the Oktyabrsky municipal district and the Nadezhdinsky district. It is planned to upgrade the fleet of vehicles using the grants. So, the plans include the purchase of tractors, a potato digger, a sprayer, a defoliator. According to business plans, this year the sown area will be 34.3 hectares, from which almost 800 tons of potatoes will be harvested.
“By 2027, the sown area will be increased by more than one and a half times – up to 54 hectares, and the potato harvest will almost double – up to 1.4 thousand tons,” the specialists of the department summarize.
Novice farmers can start their own business with the support of the regional grant “Agrostartup” in the amount of up to 3 million rubles, for the development of animal husbandry – up to 5 million. An important point is the increase in the volume of products of our own production. Against the backdrop of sanctions, this is the main task of the food security of the region.
The work is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the regional state program of Primorsky Krai “Development of agriculture and regulation of agricultural products, raw materials and food markets. Improving the standard of living of the rural population of Primorsky Krai”.
